 "Awful" 2009-12-30
By Ronald A. Tadross
You have to say the word multiple times before the machine gets it, and even then it may come up with "enhiladas" when you are screaming "chips". Your neighbors will probably get a better idea of what you need at the store. I like the idea, but the technology is just not there...at least not in this model.

 "Doesn't Recognize Words" 2009-12-27

Too bad this thing doesn't have decent voice recognition software. Like so many others, this gadget would be a keeper if it worked. Three of us tried to find 'oranges' and after many attempts it finally found it. We tried the teaching mode too - unsuccessful. It's going back

"Takes a lot of set up time, but then very helpful" 2009-12-22

I found that I have had to reenter most of the products I use with the names I call them and in my voice before the voice recognition would pick them up correctly. This has taken a lot of time, but it is paying off now as I now only have to say the name of the item once or twice to get it to go in.

 "practice makes perfect.." 2009-12-20
By J. Clark (california)
i got this as a gift and the theory was great...whenever someone noticed we were out of something, they had to put it on the list. That way, I was no longer "responsible" for not getting cereal, milk etc.

i will admit, it was a bit difficult to get the correct items on the first try-once we realized that background noise and shouting into the shopper didn't work, we eventually got the correct items to come up.

I have also utilzed the "improve item recognition" quite a few times and it really does help.

the frustrating thing for me is that i am now to a point where I have added so many things, my "library is full" and although I have deleted items i do no buy, I still cannot add more items.

In any case, its a good product and gets a lot of use at this household!

 "Needs to be re-engineered" 2009-12-03
By Jeffrey Baker (Acworth, GA)
After the first time I had to replace the paper in the machine, I was never able to get the paper to feed out of the machine again.
